Paris - Part 1

Paris is an amazing wonderful city full of history, art, shops, monuments and romantism.

To the people who comes from the airport Paris Beauvais the best option to get the city it's by bus. The bus stops in Porte Maillot, a very central Metro Station and then it's possible to choose betwen take the metro and go straight to the to hotel or take a nice walking among the beautiful streets and aleys that lead to the arc de triounphe.

At this travel I wasn't alone, after all, there are some cities that it's much better with a partner.

Me and Michelle in Paris...

In the way walking to the "city centre" it's possible to find the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile.

It's one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées.

Also in this first walking we could see the traditional food sellers in the streets. We didn't try but It looked like delicious.

Parc Monceau
The Park of Baron Haussmann

Parc Monceau became the first new public park in Paris to be created by Baron Haussmann as part of the grand transformation of Paris begun by Emperor Louis Napoleon.

In the past it was a big crazy park. The garden was designed by Carmontelle and it was finished in 1779. It contained a miniature Egyptian pyramid, a Roman colonnade, antique statues, a pond of water lilies, a tatar tent, a farmhouse, a Dutch windmill, a temple of Mars, a minaret, an Italian vineyard, an enchanted grotto, and "a gothic building serving as a chemistry laboratory," as described by Carmontelle. In addition to the follies, the garden featured servants dressed in oriental and other exotic costumes, and unusual animals, such as camels.

There are two main alleys leading out from east to west and north to south, meeting in the center of the park, and the alleys within the park. They were widened and paved, so carriages could drive on the park.

In the main entrance there is an ornamental gate 8.3 meters high was installed along a newly created avenue, boulevard Malesherbes, curving paths were laid out around the park for strolling. The pavillon de Chartres was modified by the architect, Gabriel Davioud, who had a graceful classical dome added to the structure. He also built bridge modeled after the Rialto bridge in Venice over the stream to replace the Chinese bridge that Carmontelle had once been there. He preserved the other follies remaining from the original garden. Haussmann embellished the park with a rich collection of exotic trees and flowers from around the world.

The apartment

We booked on AirBnB a 25m2 apartment on Rue des Moines Situated close to the charming district of Batignolles. Near the metro Brochant (3 min walk) or Guy Moquet and 5 minutes from Martin Luther King Park. The accommodation comprises a bathroom, a good kitchen and a small living room. The bedroom was perfect, full of books and very tidy.

Tour Eiffel

If you are visiting Paris you can't miss the wonderful main attraction. The "Tour Eiffel"

The tower can be seen from the whole city, 24 hours, every day. At night there are lights, lots of lights, to make the tower the brightest thing in the city.

The best way to get there It's by metro, going to Trocadero station. When we get off there we were a little bit lost, but following the crowd it was possible to see the lights and then we realize the real size and the magic emanating from that place.

We were a couple in Paris and for sure that city should be one of the most romantics in the world. We walked around trying to see everything. The weather it was good but a little bit cloudy, so we decided to come back in the next day to go upstairs.

Pedro: Michelle, look there! We can see the tour Eiffel by everywhere in the city!
Michelle: No, it isn't, don't worry it is just an antenna!
kkkkkkkkkkkkk
