Veneza, Venice, Venezia

One day in Venice, without map. It's perfect.
That is one of the few cities that a tourist can walk without map, the city has many attractions and signs to follow, but everything in that place is awesome therefore, the whole city has to be seen.

I've arrived at night, the streets were full of tourists, sellers and the people walking around.
In order to get the hotel I just had to follow the crowd, crossing some bridges, stopping to have dinner in a pizzeria and drinking a bottle of wine.

After all, I am in Venice.

The Train

First of all I saw on internet about the prices and I was worried because it was too expensive to me, then a friend of mine told me about buses which would go directly to Venice and depart from a Metro Station close to my accommodation so I went there.

The informations about the bus it was disappointing because it was around €35.00 and I though it was too much, on internet I have seen the train was something like €90.00 but even so I went to the ticket office in order to ask about the price.

First I asked the cashier in English, what was the cheaper way to get there and he answered me in Italian. I didn't understand properly so I asked about the timetable in a mix of spanish and Italian, so he answered me in English (but I didn't understand anything). Finaly I asked in portuguese what was the next train and he gave me a ticket to venice for €19,75. Done.

Regionale Veloce - TRENITALIA - That is the best way to travel in Italy, cheap, good service and reliable. The trains are always punctual, but you must be patient because its not fast. The train stops in at least 15 stations and sometimes it has a delay because any passenger did not pay the ticket.

In the information office i discovered that i had to drop down in verona and change the train. Ok no problem.

Let's go to venice.

The Hotel

The hotel has 23 rooms and 17 of them overlook a canal which is frequently pass through by gondola's serenades. It's directly managed by the owner Mr.Gino since 1955. He's helped by his son Massimo and is grandaughter Valentina.

All the rooms are furnished in modern style and their peculiarity is the cleanliness.

The hotel has a very central location in Venice historical centre, it's far no more than two minutes from Rialto bridge and three minutes from San Marco square. As the hotel has also an entrance on a typical venetian canal, is then possible to reach it directly by water taxi or gondola. Some rooms are overlooking the canal and facing Faccanon palace where also the famous Giacomo Casanova once lived.

Venice at night

The city is safe and lighted, the cafes and pubs are open until late night. It's a good deal to stop in any bar to have a beer or a coffee.

The next day

Attention - Picnic is not allowed

Fucking fog

Religion

While we walked around Venice we stop to watch a mass in the street, there was a priest and some musicians playing religious music, suddenly some people started a circular dance.

Gondolas

About the gondolas it's hard to say. In fact i agree about the price. It's a fixed price.
€80,00 it's fair enough. But unfortunately I didn't have that money. Maybe next time.

Churches, monuments, squares and many things to see..

Everywhere the people speak english, i have been very well treated in all the restaurants, bars and hotels. Even when the attendant didn't know speak english they try to communicate by signs or gestures.

Just one guy really didn't know speak English but even so he was quite helpful bringing me a map.

St. Mark’s Square

Palazzo Ducale

St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco)

St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco)

Palazzo Ducale

The only thing that I didn't like it's about the prices in the bars and restaurants. If you ask for a table, you have to pay more and in the last bar that I ordered a sandwich It costed €1,80 + 2 coffees (€1,00 each) = 9,60 (wtf). As i ate the fucking sandwich inside the bar they charged me for that.
Ok i am learning

Next trip - Torino
